Why I Recommend To Use Better WP Security?

Security is one of the most important things to take care about if you are a WordPress blog owner. There are thousands of WordPress blogs who were got hacked, the reason is simple; WordPress is open-source so hackers just have to download and learn how to hack it, so it is extremely important to keep your blog secure from hackers, as you can’t
say when you come to your blog and saw that your blog is hacked. So, if you want free security for your WordPress blog than you can use a plugin called Better WP Security, this is good in its place, however I do recommend that you also use any premium security services

Reasons to use Better WP Security plugin:

Login Page Change:

Yes, you can easily change your blog’s login page to anywhere else without any problems by using this plugin. The reason to change the login location is simple, if the hacker who wants to hack your blog is not much expert and will like to use Brut Force attack than the hacker must first find out the login page, which you can change by using this plugin.
And also, it would make your work easy of login, as you can set any login URL as you want, but remember the address carefully, if you forgot that than you have to do a lot of works.

Lockout:

If any people or bot try to access contents which are not available again and again than that user’s IP address will be locked out to access your site and also you will get notification about it. As many hackers try to find security hole on any WordPress blog to hack that so it is important.

Invalid login data:

This is such a great feature, as if anyone try to login to your blog with wrong data, it will keep the username which the one were used, and it will keep till you delete the data. As you will know which username peoples are trying to access your blog’s Dashboard so you can keep difference between them.

Backup:

You can send backups of your blog database to your email address in any time. You can set time to send you in every 24 hours or even 1 hour. I recommend at least set 10 hours. As keeping backup of your blog is important so it is such a great backup tool. Also, I recommend that you do backup on Dropbox, for better backup, better security.

Change Admin username:

If you don’t want to create new user and your admin username than you can use this to change your username of your blog directly, as it didn’t need to deletion and new user creation so it would be easy for beginners of WordPress.

Login limitations:

You can also limit logins of your WordPress login; you can set any number of tries. It can certainly stop brute force attacks to your blog. This is also important to put if you didn’t forgot your username password.

Change wp-content folder name:

If you want to change wp-content folder’s name to any other than you can also do it by using this plugin. As hackers generally first check, is the blog is on WordPress or not and one of the easiest way is to check its media files address, so hackers can easily know that you are using WordPress or not. However if you have a blog which was already started than I recommend that you didn’t follow this step, better you should move your wp-content folder to another place.
Changes notifications:

You will also get notifications on changes taken place on your blog’s installation files, however if you are using W3 Total Cache plugin than you might receive at least one notification every day, as it take changes on few files to build new cache files.

Guest Posting On Your Blog: Advantages and Disadvantages

Today, every blog owner try to post on any other same niche blog which ranking is high or that is in fastest growing stage. And I am now seeing that many blog which was saying that they didn’t approve guest posters are now approving them, as no one can get idea always so they can do any post and that lead to a serious problem to the blog owner becaus
e they can’t do posts every day and there rank started getting lower and lower and lower.

So, at this like situation the owner of the blog started giving opportunity to their readers and friends to be guest author of their blog. Nowadays nearly every good site are offering to do guest posting, however some great blogs owners are still now approving guest articles. Guest posting on your blog has advantage(s) but also has disadvantage(s). The decision is on you hand about accepting or not accepting. So in this article we’ll learn about the advantage(s) and disadvantage(s) of Guest posting on your blog.

What is Guest posting (on your blog)?

When any other people/blogger come and posts an article on your blog is called Guest posting. Mainly people do this to get dofollow backlink to their blog and some traffic.

Advantage(s):

Traffic:

When any guest poster posts an article on your blog, you will start getting additional visitors. And also some of them may subscribe to your blog so you would get some subscribers also. Also sometimes friends of the visitors also started visiting sites of their friend and by this way you get even more visits.

Daily updates:

You blog should update regularly to get indexed on search engines regularly. This is a need for every blog owner to post at least one article every day or update and add some more information to old articles, but when you don’t have any idea on posting a new article at that time your blog didn’t update regularly and also started getting late indexations in the search engines. While if you have guest authors they will post some articles every day and it improve your site’s listings in search engines. If you ever get problems and you can’t do any posts than at that time guest authors can help you a lot because they will keep posting every day.

Disadvantage(s):

Backlinks:

If you have so many guest authors than many of them are posting only to get more dofollow backlinks from your blog to get good rank of their website in Google PageRank. And because of so many backlinks your blog started losing its own rank and if you don’t have any rank than it will make your work harder to get any rank.
Losing visitors:

Yes, you will not only get some visitors but also lose some visitors. As mainly guest authors put there blog’s address so your visitors may visit his/her site and leave your site. By this way, it will lower your visitors.

Things To Do Before Installing Any Plugin On Wordpress Blog

Plugins have such an important role for every WordPress blog, because it is also a reason why peoples prefer WordPress for their blogging needs. One of the biggest reasons for choosing WordPress can also become a biggest reason for getting your blog down or so many other problems. Many of WordPress blogs get hacked due to the fault of
plugins, so in this article I’ll tell you few things which you should do before installing any plugin.

So, let we start.

Things to do before installing any plugin:

Check compatibility:

Checking the compatibility version is too important task, because using non-compatible plugins can cause so many problems such as keeping your blog down, locking downs the admin, or even more. Some of plugins even down sites which cannot easily get recover; even I have lost my two test blogs because of non-compatible plugins. So, always first check the compatibility on the plugin page before giving it a try on your blog. After it you should also follow next tips as that is also important for safe blog.

Check reviews:

Before installing any plugin check reviews of that plugin. It is the second task to do, as many peoples leave there thoughts on the plugin, and not just that they also report about the issues they got while using that. Also, if there is any problem they got, than some peoples also give that fix there and that will be very helpful if the plugin you want is really helpful to you.

Update:

This is another important thing to see, before installing any plugin check the time when that was updated. The latest the plugin is the more secure your blog is because if there will be any attack on that plugin than if the developer isn’t taking time for it than there is higher chance that your blog can also get hacked. Also, if you highly trust the plugin and its author than you can still install that but the plugin should update in every 6-8 months at least for better trust.

Ask friends:

If any of your friend also using WordPress than you can ask your friend about plugin which you are going to use, as many peoples always love to try new plugins so they may also try anyone, so you can get personal review of the plugin you want to use on your blog. Also, they can tell you about issues which they get and should you use that plugin or not.

Test on test blog:

You can test any plugin which you want to use on your blog on any other blog, like what I did always. It will help you to know how the plugin can work. Also you can find the problems which you may get while using that on your blog. This is one of the best ways to confirm a working plugin.

Also while you install and activate the plugin you want to use, make sure to scan that with any Antivirus of WordPress, you can use Wordfence also for it. The reason for scanning with antivirus is also important if you didn’t trust the author of that plugin, because some authors keep some malicious codes in the plugin and that can affect your blog by many ways.
