Today I'm going to tell you the story of how Motorola came to the market after a disaster. Before going into the story, I'll tell some information about Motorola that I know Motorola was founded by Paul and galvin.they bought bankrupt Stewart battery company .Their first product was battery eliminators. Soon they got obselete and they started to make radios for cars. When there was
confusion on the naming of the company they finalised a name that is Motorola. "Motor" stands for car and "ola" was a famous ending on those days like Crayola ,etc. Then they started to make televisions also. Then they entered into telecommunication field and later it was broken into two as Motorola telecommunications and Motorola solutions. Now let's get into the story of why Motorola failed. Motorola was well known for their stylish and reliable mobiles. After the release of android Motorola droid phones were released and were sold at a high cost and a sluggish ui. People found Samsung a way better in price and reliability.Soon the Motorola went down and was totally disappeared from mobile phone industry. Why Google bought Motorola? The answer is to smack Samsung down. Yes you heard it right. Google was famous for its search engine. It is also famous for its nexus lines of devices. The first Nexus OEM was HTC . Then the second and third ones which are Nexus s and galaxy Nexus respectively which are made by Samsung. Nexus s Galaxy Nexus Samsung was getting less credits on these devices and they gone greedy and left the Nexus line of devices. They created touchwiz ui and it ran well and got good response. Google wanted to teach Samsung a lesson. So they bought Motorola and made moto g and it smashed the mid range phone segment. Samsung sales were went down and they were in huge loss. Google made it possible with a profit of just Rs.750 per device. After that it launched moto e , moto e2 , moto x ,etc. After seeing the success of Motorola , the chinese company lenovo bought it from Google. After lenovo buying Motorola , the phones produced by them were actually manufactured by lenovo in the name of Motorola. Those phones are quality issues like display were yellowish, ui was changed like the lenovo devices and the main thing is using of mediatek chipset which Motorola never used in its history. Moto e3 power is an example.
